In Italy, Esso had the contract to provide gas for American military (gas coupons, anyone?), and if you were really lucky, you could ask the station attendant if they had any fake-fur tiger tail giveaways to hang from your rear view mirror. I still have mine! BTW, the guy in the cartoon is saying "Al momento del sorpasso tira fuori la grinta" which means "It pulls out the [engine] grit when you're passing"...
