Mom's name is Henrietta Davenport. Mom dad worked there, too. He died in 1997, and is buried at Arlington. Tell your dad to get that rosary rolling!!!
Carolyn, sending prayers out to you and your mom
Carolyn, what is your Mom's name? My Dad was in Bldg Q from '69 - '73 and I would like to let him know...he'll have to rosary out in minutes.
For those FSHS folks who don't know, my mom was the NATO telephone operator in Bldg. Q on AFSouth from 1968 to 1971. If your parents made a phone call to another country or stateside, she very likely patched it through. She knew most everyone's folks due to her job, and she still asks me about "the kids." She was on the 2001 reunion trip with Claudia and me, and she loved every second of it, and was quite smitten with JP Menese. (That handsome fellow, as she called him) My mom lived in Naples from 1956 to 1960 on Via Caravaggio and from 1966 to 1971 in Parco San Paolo. She is certainly a Wildcat in spirit, if not in actuality. I just wanted you all to know more about the woman I love, and please....tell God I need her, if just for a another trip to Italy, another chance to see another sun rise over the Bay of Naples.
Original Post | I just got off the phone with my sister-in-law Joanne and brother Paul. They are in the states for my nephew Matt's college graduation from Virginia Tech. They called to let me know my mom has been admitted to Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, MD. She was running a high fever, and seemed to have had a small seizure. Test results are pending, and they think I should remain here at home in PA until they know what the heck is going on. Of course my instinct is to just get in the car and get down there. Mom just turned 86 on March 28th. As many of you know, I've had more than my share of loss, so I ask all of you to please turn on the prayers full blast and ask for healing for mom, and strength for me! If need be, I will get going at a moments notice. I'm scared, but believe the Lord is with her, and Claudia and Vicki are her guardian angels. Thanks everyone, I love you all, and appreciate prayers big and small! |
