Original Post George Petersen 10:50am Apr 12 ITALIAN WORD OF THE DAY Spam: "Spam" — I blame Steve Pope for bringing this up in a posting, but wondered what the Italian word for Spam is and sure enough it's "spam" as in "fare spam" (to create internet spam) or the verb "spammare" and yes, it also comes from the word for the famous Hormel meat product Spam, "carne in scatoletta".
