| onald "Tony " Arndt, was a great Sax player out of Seatle. Played in the early 60s with a hard hittin' Jazz/ R&b band up there called " Big george and the Thirteen Screamin' N,,s. I brought him to LA, where he played tenor for my 5 piece "Thrush". And later as the bass player in the first Joint Possession. Went on to become bass player for John Roman Jackson. Tony used to like saying,,,Nothin! hits harder than a coulpe tenors,, Or ,,, A couple Hillbillys who know how to work two part harmony. There was a time when O'Neill & Phillips, would give the HBs a run for their money. |
