I was a single mom at 17, and I KNOW how hard it is. Some women can't or choose not to take on such a daunting responsibility. Anyone who thinks that making abortion illegal will change things for the better is living in a dreamworld. All you will have is dead mothers--and a lot of "older kids and kids with special needs" who will need homes--killed by back alley abortions. And rape victims who are sentenced to remember EVERY DAY OF THEIR LIFE, WITHOUT RESPITE,what happened to them because their choice of how THEY want to live their lives was taken away. I have no problem supporting these children. I wish there were fewer of them but Mel you can't pretend they don't exist. My dad split leaving her with three kids to raise all alone. I don't agree with your "you'd have to walk in those shoes..." comment. IMO, taking an innocent human life is just not the right approach for fixing a problem caused by choices made between two consenting adults. Take care!
