Mel, are you willing to support those lives saved until they are 18? How about the many thousands unwanted babies are you willing to have your taxes going to their support? I don't know how rough or how easy it might have been for your mom or Audrey but it almost impossible for many women.

Audrey, same thing happened to my Mom. My dad split leaving her with three kids to raise all alone. I don't agree with your "you'd have to walk in those shoes..." comment. IMO, taking an innocent human life is just not the right approach for fixing a problem caused by choices made between two consenting adults. Take care!

I appreciate that comment Mel, but I was one of those women left to raise 2 children on my own (two children that I "chose" to have). I suppose that you'd have to walk in those shoes to accept the open mind thinking of "right to choose". Since that will never happen, it's a conversation I don't easily have with the male population which I expect/hope that you can understand.

I'm not "spewing pro-life sentimentality". I realize Abortion helps with one problem, but that it also causes many, many more.

For decades women have taken the brunt, if not all, of the negative stigma attached to out of wedlock pregnancies, and had their lives altered completely as they struggled to raise children alone.

Men, on the other hand, have often gotten off scott free, not living up to their parenting responsibilities, while being patted on the back for yet another conquest. That's wrong, completely unfair, and a shameful mark on our society.

Both parties involved are equally responsible, & should be treated the same. As they say, it takes two to tango, and we shouldn't shame one party while patting the other on the back. Nor should one party be saddled with all the responsibility, while the other goes on his merry way.

Nancy, the rape issue is a hard one. I have heard compelling arguments on both sides. It's still hard for me to come down on the side of taking an innocent life.

Would men (some) be so quick to spew pro-life sentimentality if they were the ones that had to carry babies? I promise you they would not.
